Industry Standard Printers

Chromira

The requirements for a 20” x 30” print on a Chromira requires a 24 bit RGB file and use ZBE’s patented Resolution Enhancement Technology to improve the original graphic’s resolution of 300 PPI to 425 PPI. To enable printing, Chromira requires a compatible computer that is connected to the network. In addition, the Chromira is able to print unattended, unless it requires the materials to be reloaded, otherwise, it does not require an operator when printing. This is because Chromira printers are controlled by the lab’s workstations.

Pegasus

In order for the Pegasus printer to print a 20” x 30” image, the digital file must be in a RBG MAC TIF format at 250 dpi (uncompressed). JPEG is also acceptable, but does not reach its best result. The file size for a Pegasus print of 20” x 30” is around 114.5mb.Quark and illustrator files can also be printed, but must be converted to a TIF file beforehand.

Lambda

To print a 20” x 30” from a Lambda printer, the file needs to be in a TIFF (RGB and Grayscale) or JPEG (RGB and Greyscale) format. The Lambda works when digital data is exposed directly to the photographic material. The speed of this process proceeds up to 65cm per minute with either 200 or 400 PPI that is equal to a seemingly clear resolution of 4000 DPI.
